John Hedge

John ‘s background is in Probation working in a range of settings for many years in London and the Thames Valley.   He joined the Thames Valley Partnership  in 2003  on secondment from probation and managed a number of projects including work on alcohol, anti-social behaviour, and community engagement. He has extensive direct experience of governance with drug and alcohol voluntary sector organisations and has also worked in this field as an independent consultant.       

He has worked both as a trainer and consultant in a wide range of projects and settings with both commissioners and provider agencies. This work has been across a number of policy areas, including Substance Misuse, Learning Disability and Adult Social Care services. He has undertaken a wide range of work with voluntary sector agencies, ranging from evaluation and review to planning and organisational development.  He has worked with providers from a number of different sectors, including housing, elder care and substance misuse. Recent work has involved three separate small consultancies with adult care service providers in a London borough, supporting their transition to personalization.

John left the Partnership in  2007  but continues to work with us as an Associate.  He lives in Suffolk.  He has for 10 years also been the General Secretary of the Mali Development Group, a small charity, which works on development projects with West African partners.
