VFESS (Victims First Emotional Support Service) is one of the support services offered by Thames Valley Partnership, providing support to victims of crime. This includes people who have been indirectly affected by crime (e.g. friends and relatives of victims).  VFESS provides emotional support and advocacy as well as practical help and information. VFESS encourages its clients to regain a sense of control in their lives after they have been affected by crime – helping them to move on to a brighter future.

Clients are supported by our VFESS caseworkers and trained volunteers via telephone calls or face-to-face contact. Whilst VFESS provides a broad support service for victims, we also have a good understanding of specialist services across Thames Valley and can often signpost to other useful sources of help. We can liaise with other relevant agencies and advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they can access services as required by the Victims Code of Practice.

VFESS is also working closely with Triangle, a bespoke Outcome Star evaluation tool which will help identify how we can help our clients more effectively – so that we can continue to improve our service anvvvd help tailor this to offer the best possible support all round.
